Happy Holidays!

It's almost vacation time! This Friday is school meeting at 2:00. We hope you can attend. The concert last week was fabulous! It was great getting a chance to see our students shine. Chorus students will be visiting the nursing home on Monday. We will be enjoying the second BREAK party on Tuesday, Dec. 22nd, to celebrate all of the wonderful behavior in 5th grade! The Eggceptional Breakfast will be Dec. 21st at 8:00 am (this is a change from last year's 9:00 time!) The snow date will be Dec. 22nd at 8:00.

In Science, we are making ROCKS! Yes, we know that it takes many thousands of years for rocks to form, but we are simulating the process. Many thanks to Mrs. Turpin who helped us with our labs this week.

In Social Studies, we acted out the first 10 amendments to the Constitution, called the Bill of Rights. We are becoming experts on our rights and responsibilities as Americans.

In Reading, Mrs. Sands has been checking up on our fluency, and she is proud to report that most of the students in 5th grade have improved! Please remember that your child should be reading from their novel for at least 20 minutes each night. To improve fluency, they should try to read at least one page out loud each night.
