We are now officially half way through the second trimester! Where does time go? Our progress reports will be going home shortly.
In Math we have started a new unit that begins with exponential notation.
In Social Studies we have been talking and learning about the Industrial Revolution and the mills of the 1800's. We looked at a lot of old mills that used to exist, right here in Bridgton! We will move on to map the states and capitals of the South Eastern U.S.
In Science we just completed a cool lab where we make crystals!
We are getting better and better at identifying grammatical errors when we practice with D.O.L.
each week. We have seen huge gains!
We have been enjoying stories in Reading that have marine-life themes. They are full of description and they create all kinds of cool images in our minds! Remember to read 30 minutes each night.

Happy New Year!!
It's so nice to be back and working hard again in every subject!
In Social Studies we are learning about Westward expansion, The War of 1812, the Monroe Doctrine, and the Indian Removal Act...whew!
In Science we are starting our Rocks and Minerals Unit. So far we have recorded observations on specimens and we have made our own rocks with fossils and mystery minerals inside of them.
In Math we are organizing data using graphs, charts, and tables.
In Reading we are using the strategy....Creating Images, or using our five senses to create pictures in our minds as we read.
Lastly, in Writing, we have had a blast learning to write with voice. We look at a situation from two different perspectives and write how differently we see things from these different points of view. We have really loved this lesson!
